Marc Willebeek-LeMair, Chairman and Founder

 

Marc is a 20-year veteran of the tech industry. From 2005-2009, he served as CTO of 3Com with responsibility for product management, product engineering, marketing and strategy. He arrived at 3Com through the acquisition of TippingPoint, where he helped pioneer Intrusion Prevention Systems for network security. In 2001, as CTO, Marc co-founded TippingPoint and assumed a broad range of responsibilities that included both technology and marketing, as well as the creation of the Digital Vaccine Security Research Group. Prior to that, he spent 10 years at the T.J. Watson Research Center of IBM. Marc has 20 patents and holds a doctorate in electrical engineering from Cornell University and a bachelor’s in Computer and Electronic Engineering from George Mason University.

Prior to Click Security, Michael was the founder and CEO of MyEdu Corporation in Austin, Texas, which he sold to Blackboard Corporation in 2014. Before MyEdu, Michael was President and CEO of Global 360, a leading BPM company, which he sold to private equity firms, TA Associates, Technology Crossover Ventures and JMI Equity. Before joining Global 360, Michael served as CEO of the leading enterprise portal company, Epicentric, Inc. He merged the company with Vignette and served as EVP Worldwide Operations. Previously, he was EVP at Gemplus, SVP of Worldwide Operations at ViewStar, and VP of Sales and Marketing at Computer Associates.

Brian Smith, CTO and Founder (Board Observer)

 

Brian co-founded TippingPoint Technologies in 2001. He was TippingPoint’s Chief Architect from 2001-2009 and CTO in 2009. While at TippingPoint he helped establish the company as the premier vendor of intrusion prevention system (IPS) solutions. Prior to TippingPoint, Smith received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California at Berkeley and was the Xerox Professor of Computer Science at Cornell University until 1998. He holds 12 patents and is a fellow of the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.

Michael works with energy, Internet and technology companies. Prior to joining Sequoia Capital in 1996, Michael spent 10 years in various engineering, research, and product management roles at DEC, SynOptics and Centillion, and was a director of Engineering at Bay Networks (NT). Michael was also a Technical Chairman of the ATM Forum. Michael has a BS in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University and an MS in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.

John Vrionis, Lightspeed Venture Partners

 

John joined Lightspeed in 2006 and focuses primarily on information technology infrastructure, with a particular investment interest in datacenter technologies; he was named a Top Investor in the Cloud market by GigaOm in 2012. In addition, John is the founder of Lightspeed’s Summer Grant Program.

Previously, he worked in product management and marketing with Determina (acquired by VMware). John was also an initial member of the executive team at Freedom Financial Network, where he helped design and implement the company’s customer relationship management software, drove its partnership strategy and managed the marketing and sales team.

John holds an MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business, an MS in Computer Science from the University of Chicago and a BA from Harvard University.

Arvind Purushotham, Citi Ventures (Board Observer)

 

Arvind joined Citi Ventures in January of 2011 as a Managing Director, and is responsible for leading strategic investments that are critical for Citi's future growth. He brings over ten years of professional investment experience as a Silicon Valley venture capitalist. At Citi, Arvind has led investments in Silver Tail Systems (acq by EMC), and Click Security, and has sponsored investments in companies such as Jumio, Square, Linkable Networks and ReadyForZero.

Prior to Citi, Arvind was a Managing Director at Menlo Ventures. At Menlo, he was an investor in a wide range of companies, including Cavium Networks (CAVM), Intelligent Results (acquired by First Data), Jobfox, Kazeon (acquired by EMC), NCircle, Nexxo Financial, Solidcore (acquired by McAfee) and Vhayu Technologies (acquired by Thompson Reuters).

Arvind started his career as a chip designer working on low power versions of the Pentium Processor® in the Mobile Group at Intel Corporation. Later he became the Program Manager of the Mobile Pentium II® Processor effort and contributed to several successful product launches.

Arvind has an MBA from Harvard, an MS in EE from Case Western Reserve University and his BTech in EE from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. He lives in Palo Alto, with his wife and two sons, and enjoys running, reading and photography in his spare time.
